I am working full time as software architect and my expertise in software development is 30+ years, I also have knack at psychology combined with deep and wide technology knowledge, I am doing this for living and I can judge the abilities of others (both people and organizations) to do it. I have experience with both the light and the dark side of management practices and this makes me uniquely qualified to determine if they are applied in a practical way or butchered and simply declared as a marketing slogan. I can easily measure the amount of work and organizing effort needed concerning the selected technologies and then check if the company can actually live up to them, if they realize the scale of the effort, have the ability to create the architecture they claim they are offering and so on. I don't need more programming work - I already have more than enough, but I can analyze how others do what I am also doing every day and give you insight, warnings, point potential problems, determine how good the business analysis is, how practical or obsessed by trend and dogma are your contractors, if they have the people needed for the job and so on.

I am doing this personally, it is not part of my job at the company I am working for and also I'll refuse such assignments if they can cause conflict of interests.

Pricing is negotiated and will not be too high. I have a natural affinity toward finding the cheapest and safest way to do a job and increase the flexibility and functionality at the same time. These tings are actually related in an unexpected manner for non-programmers. In a profession where new technologies and techniques come almost every day a balance between relying on own expertise and usage of 3-d party software is a necessity, which means "we are using the cutting edge" is not a plus by itself and may cover a wide range of traps. The industry suffers certain problems, like large amount of programmers working for their CVs and not their companies, people who will say nice words, but can leave you with something unmanageable and so on. I can sniff these things for you and participate in initial planning and requirements definition, mediate, persuade people to take a practical and honest approach instead of hiding behind promises that can fail both sides.
